Yonsei University Allen's Garden Brightening Facial Wash Oatmeal: Skincare Review

I'm taking you on a tour of my skincare regimen today, with a particular emphasis on Allen's Garden Brightening Facial Wash, a product I saw at one of the top supermarkets in the Philippines.  While doing my supermarket shopping, I noticed this product and felt it was time to test it out and tell you all my honest opinion.  Hold on tight as we get into the specifics of this facial cleanser.

This facial cleanser is consistent with Allen's Garden's reputation for using only natural, plant-based ingredients.  It claims to brighten the skin, making it appear revitalized and glowing.  A possible game-changer for people with oily skin, it is also hailed for its ability to manage oil. Actually, I am not aware of this product; I often see it when we shop at SNR. I was looking for an affordable facial wash since I ran out, so when I saw it again, I decided to purchase and try it. This will be my first time using a product under this brand, which makes me excited.

It was the smell that caught my attention initially. Personal preferences vary when it comes to skincare fragrances, and I found this one to be a little disappointing. The face cleanser smells strongly like oats, which I found to be overwhelming. It's a scent that's hard to ignore - it's as if you've walked into a kitchen where a pot of oatmeal has been overcooked. It's a scent that lingered even after rinsing, which was off-putting for me.

This facial wash's brightening effect is one of its primary marketing points.  I used it regularly for a few weeks, but my skin didn't noticeably brighten after that.  It appears that this product did not come up to my expectations for a glowing complexion. My skin didn't appear to have the advertised brightness or glow, even though I used it regularly every day.  I had great expectations for this product, therefore it was a little disappointed.

But there were some positive aspects as well. The face cleanser was quite effective at reducing oiliness.  For people with oily skin types, this is a huge victory because my skin felt less oily overall, especially in the T-zone area. Application-wise, the product is easy to rinse off and produces a good lather. One advantage is that it didn't leave any residue on my skin. My skin felt clean and renewed after every wash, but I had to put up with the smell.

Finally, Allen's Garden Brightening Facial Wash has its own strengths and weaknesses. Even though I didn't like the scent and the brightening effects weren't as strong as I had thought, it performed a great job of reducing oiliness at a lower cost—I recall that this one costs Php300+. Keep in mind that everyone's skincare preferences are different, so what worked for me could work for you. If you have any concerns, always patch test new products and see a dermatologist.
